DGS’s Office of Information Systems and Services (ISS) is a customer-focused organization whose primary responsibility is to provide technology solutions and support to facilitate the success of our agency and its customers.
We are seeking a Director of the Office of Information System Services to provide guidance and consultation on information technology issues to executive and upper management and management and direction to the ISS team. This position will lead, innovate and deliver quality and timely solutions that enable DGS’ strategic vision through the effective use of technology. The Director of Information System Services actively participates with agency leadership in the development of the agency strategic operation and technology plans.
Job Responsibilities:
Direct, plan, organize and control all activities of the DGS Office of Information System Services and ensure the effective, efficient, and secure operation of all information technology. The director is the primary technology business leader of the department. The director will address policy implications of any issue, return a vision of what's needed through technology, and articulate a plan to combine technology with the top policy priorities addressing state services. The director serves as an agent of change, taking all steps to integrate solutions across multiple division and business units. The director is responsible for direction and oversight of the department's information technology program; systems & network oversight and maintenance; IT project management and planning; and serves and the primary VITA liaison.
Minimum Qualifications
- Progressively responsible management experience in a large-scale, complex IT environment.
- Knowledge of VITA operations and ability to manage, monitor and facilitate compliance with State and VITA requirements for procurement, budget and billing processes.
- Experience in aligning Information Technology projects, portfolios and initiatives with strategic business goals.
- Knowledge and experience with cyber security issues and emerging issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with information technology, large scale and complex systems development, and computer operations management.
- Knowledge and experience in IT and knowledge of a variety of technical environments, integration, enterprise architecture, and Capitol campus network.
- Knowledge and experience with Project Management, Program Management, and Portfolio Management.
- Degree in information technology or a closely related field or the combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DGS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), AIM, M5, COVATrax, eVA, Flagstore, and/or Payport.
