POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT


The Director of EH&S Programs for Moss will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of the Moss Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Program at the Enterprise level. This role will be responsible for leading initiatives and projects, our EH&S brand management, EH&S engagement, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Moss has a well-designed, strategic approach to EH&S management and governance at the Enterprise level that reflects the company’s values and industry-recognized safety culture and best practices. This role will create, maintain, and oversee the Enterprise strategic safety program including validation of EH&S Program compliance and support for Crisis Management. The leader will develop, and manage EH&S policies, standards, programs, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable local, regional, national, and federal occupational health regulations, directives, and standards. This role builds collaborative and productive working relationships, networks with, and appropriately involves key internal and external stakeholders, influences key business decisions as well as functional and operational EH&S strategies, plans, executes, and evaluates complex assignments that have a broad impact on operations and the business.


Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities


  • Develop, align and implement long-term EH&S strategies and annual or short term EH&S action plans, projects or initiatives that effectively manages EH&S compliance and risk mitigation objectives with business and operational needs, operating plans, capital planning, resource staffing and budgeting
  • Collect, measure and analyze EH&S metrics and KPI performances at the Enterprise Level, to discover trends for continuous improvement or corrective measures. Perform management reviews and report on EH&S performance and tactical and strategic improvement planning
  • Design, develop, author and sustain the Enterprise EH&S programs, procedures, processes and systems in compliance with Moss’s EH&S expectations and in alignment with applicable regulations
  • Manage regulatory agency and external stakeholder EH&S activities, including reporting, visits, or inspections
  • Develop, integrate and execute EH&S strategies, policies, programs, procedures, standards, training, processes and actions manage applicable requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Partner and collaborate with the business units and support functions, to influence and manage EHS resources and projects and business decisions
  • Perform validation audits and reviews to identify systemic EH&S management gaps, develop corrective measures and implement solutions to sustain compliance with EH&S law and company EH&S strategies, policies or standards. Leverage lessons learned and develop continuous improvement EH&S programs
  • Manage enterprise-wide impact of EH&S incident investigations to determine and implement root cause corrective actions. Leverage lessons learned and develop continuous improvement EH&S programs
  • Monitor, interpret, and assess existing or emerging EH&S regulations, regulatory policy, and industry practices, determine operational and business impacts
  • Functions as a leadership role to provide EH&S service, solutions, programs, best practices and technical guidance to three business management units (Construction Management, Solar and One Hawaii) and support functions to effectively and efficiently manage compliance assurance and EH&S risk mitigation


Education And Work Experience


  • BCSP CSP certification, ABIH CIH certification, or similar
  • MBA or advanced degree in safety & health / environmental (Preferred)
  • At least 15 - 20 years direct safety and health experience
  • BS degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
  • Ability to travel domestically (estimated at 30%)
  • Broad occupational safety and health experience and familiarization of environmental regulations
  • Strong cross functional communication skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic and exercise a high level of maturity with a positive attitude
  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
  • Possess a business, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking abilities with a focus on developing creative solutions
  • Six Sigma/LEAN Certification (Preferred)
  • Proactive, detail oriented, flexible, able to multi-task and team player
