Job Description

Reporting to the US Country Manager - The Director of Engineering is responsible for developing, managing, and providing engineering support for prospective solar projects, projects under development and potential project acquisitions. The Director of Engineering ensures that all projects beginning with prospecting through construction will have standardized specifications, standards and alignment across the country and departments. The US projects portfolio will involve ground-mount solar utility scale projects.


Job Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible in applying new technologies (ie: Storage, wind...) and think out of the box on approaching project strategies that better fit culture and initiative...
  • You will also be responsible for presenting your projects and updates to US Managing Director, Managing Director Solar Development and M&A Director, providing your input and expertise on a daily basis as the Engineering project leader of a collaborative and dynamic team.
  • This job will be responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost, and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or M&A transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all the engineering aspects of the development business and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
  • Operates as a liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection. Constructs contractual arrangements for project development, negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors and ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads and coordinated by key functions such as engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and due diligence activities with other internal groups.
  • Represent the company in discussions with Utilities, TSOs, and other interested parties.
  • You will be working with leadership within US Development team, to support origination and business development efforts.
  • Together with the project development team, coordinate and manage all aspects of the utility interconnection process to ensure thoroughness and minimize project risks.
  • Communicates with intergovernmental organizations, utilities, municipalities, and county governments to support the project development team.
  • You will conduct Engineering Development matters from beginning to end, including overseeing and management of cross functional teams across the companies Resources organization.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and in multiple capacities using advanced writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills.


Qualifications

  • Superior problem-solving abilities regarding engineering, process and operational issues.
  • Professional Engineer license is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with, analyze, and graphically display business information.
  • Significant experience in engineering management in energy related activities.
  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate, and prioritize work, with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of project development experience from a PV project developer.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required
