Job Description

MissionStaff, a leading Tech, Creative and Digital staffing firm has an opening for a Director of Ecommerce, for a permanent position that is 100% remote.


** Experience overseeing a Magento 2 implementation is strongly preferred


Seeking a full-time experienced Director of Ecommerce who is passionate about uncovering consumer insights and delivering innovative marketing campaigns. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will generate strategies that grow market share and brand reputation, improve customer experience and drive growth. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of ecommerce including websites and marketplaces, search engine optimization, digital merchandising, web development, and digital advertising programs. You will use your leadership, creative thinking, strategic campaigning, problem solving, and analytical skills to lead the Ecommerce team in the development and execution of consumer sales and promotions across our various online channels, and coordinate with internal teams for consistent product positioning in all areas of the business. You are data driven and continually seek to improve upon our KPIs by engaging our customers and ensuring a high-quality, personalized experience for every online customer. The Director of Ecommerce is a member of the marketing team who will report directly to the Vice President Sales of Marketing.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Track performance to ensure successful execution of critical SEO optimizations.
  • Investigate best practices, trends, beta trials, and opportunities to increase efficiency in ad spend while growing overall revenue.
  • Manage Web Development Team - Manage the development team, the process for getting new projects into the development pipeline, and prioritization of projects based on strategic business impact.
  • Oversee quality of product listings and accuracy of global marketplace feeds.
  • Oversee Google, Microsoft, marketplace, and social media advertising strategies.
  • Make data-driven recommendations to optimize sites and channels for conversions.
  • Manage website QA process, identify bugs and feature opportunities; responsible for keeping the site healthy at all times.
  • Provide regular performance summaries and new channel opportunities to executive stakeholders.
  • Responsible for performance and budget for all digital advertising.
  • Manage Merchandising Team - Spearhead the development of the digital merchandising strategy to increase engagement with new and returning online customers to drive sales.
  • Measure the impact of website tests, landing pages, checkout tests, cross sell/upsell opportunities, etc.
  • Lead, inspire, grow, and develop the e-commerce team.
  • Responsible for budget review, invoice approvals, and partner relationships relating to web development and technical projects.
  • Continually evaluate departmental processes to increase efficiency.
  • Create website testing and features roadmap with the end goal of constantly increasing conversion, cart size, AOV, and overall revenue.
  • Manage Digital Advertising Program - Manage the Digital Advertising team and partners.
  • Responsible for feed management and accuracy.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy with both technical and non-technical opportunities which grow our organic traffic.
  • Create a positive and productive work environment for your team to ensure projects and initiatives stay within scope and budget, while meeting deadlines and strategic goals.
  • Analytics and Reporting - Set pre-campaign KPIs and success benchmarks, timelines for evaluation and optimization.
  • Plan and oversee implementation of strategic marketing content for marketplaces while maintaining consistency of brand messaging.
  • Manage the implementation of strategic e-commerce sales, promotions and product launches across all online channels.
  • Research industry and platform trends to maintain a world-class digital presence.
  • Marketplace Management - Lead internal team towards solutions that increase marketplace traffic and visibility, improve customer experience, and drive sales.
  • Use web analytics as a core driver for decision making, investment prioritization, and improving performance.
  • Present performance reports and recommendations based on strategic testing and data evaluation.
  • Utilize an ongoing test and learn strategy to scale merchandising, advertising, and SEO initiatives.
  • Manage SEO Program - Responsible for coordinating with SEO team and conveying key insights to marketing and product teams to achieve overall goals.
  • Ensure timely execution of initiatives while maintaining excellent quality assurance that translates to a seamless consumer experience.
  • Drive implementation of best practices across all marketplaces to increase sales performance.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of automotive systems, culture, and products, especially from a consumer’s perspective.
  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Communications or related discipline
  • Demonstrated track record in building and scaling consumer brands
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking ability
  • Detailed understanding of end-to-end e-commerce processes including clear understanding of website infrastructure, content management, product attribution, and customer-facing functionality
  • 5-10+ years related experience driving growth in e-commerce or consumer marketplace; with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position managing a hyper-growth, innovation-focused company
