About The Role
Our growth is fueled by our strong relationships in the healthcare industry. The Director of Clinical Outreach will be over managing all regional territories which is a team of clinical outreach managers. Our clinical outreach team is a critical contributor to growth for Octave. Cultivating and deepening relationships with health systems and primary care providers within their territory in order to build awareness of Octave’s mental health services and generate patient referrals.
As a Director of Clinical Outreach, you will use your analytical skills, consultative mindset, creativity, and business acumen to identify the most valuable strategic opportunities for Octave to continue its growth and expansion. You will be in a highly-visible internal role where you’ll have the ability, and need, to establish effective working relationships and influence across Octave’s executive leadership team, as well as matrix partners across the broader organization. The position will be mainly virtual, with occasional travel.
Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a funnel of opportunities for referral from health systems and primary care providers within a specified territory.
  • With an entrepreneurial mindset, proactively and creatively identify the most effective means to target, engage, qualify, and secure referrals from providers.
  • Maintain ongoing local market knowledge of needs, trends, competition and opportunities, keeping management close to the voice of our customers and partners.
  • Lead meetings with providers to uncover needs, address barriers to treatment, and cement community partnerships
  • Manage a team of outreach managers throughout the companies serviced territories to maintain and create new partnerships with Octave
  • Work with the VP of Marketing to set team quarterly goals and KPIs.
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams to ensure marketing, clinical and operational support are aligned to support the achievement of referral growth targets.
  • Establish new relationships with providers through direct outreach both in person and over phone/e-mail, generating new patient referrals from providers who have not previously referred to Octave.
  • Design strategies to better support and engage referral partners across different channels
  • Build relationships with Octave leadership teams and other key internal stakeholders in order to inform market perspectives and strategies, and to establish influence as a valuable strategic advisor
  • Maintain existing relationships with providers and office staff who have actively referred to Octave, and generate consistent and predictable referral growth for Octave, while identifying opportunities to better serve our referral partners..
  • Use Salesforce CRM as the primary tool to help plan and manage day to day activities, and to provide strategic and tactical insights to management.
  • Provide regular reporting to management on territory plans, sales activities, and referral volume and forecasts.
Qualifications
  • Must be located in CA -Preferred areas are in San Francisco, Los Angeles or San Diego
  • Minimum 10 years experience of demonstrated community and business outreach
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel locally (within 1-2 hour driving distance) for meetings with potential referral partners
  • Senior Manager: 3 - 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • BA or BS degree required
  • Able to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • 1-4+ years of familiarity with sales processes, and territory management
Experience And Skills
  • Passion for and advocate of mental health
  • Comfort with video conferencing, scheduling, and CRM technologies
  • Planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow up
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, including Google Sheets and Excel
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and current trends
  • Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM system
Starting pay for qualified applicants will depend on a combination of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below and this range may be modified in the future.
The salary range for this role is $114,300 - 197,200.
Additionally, this position is eligible for the following benefits: company sponsored life insurance, disability and AD&D plans. Voluntary benefits such as 401k retirement, medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, dependent care and commuter/parking options are also available. Octave offers generous Paid Time Off as well as paid parental leave benefits.
