Job Description
Utilities One (U1) is looking for an experienced Director of Business Development. This critical senior leadership role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and be responsible for developing and growing our client base and our annualized revenue.


U1 offers a full suite of services to support infrastructure projects and solutions for Telecommunication Providers (LECs/MSOs/Access), Electric Utilities, Wireless Providers (Carriers/OEMs/Tower Companies), Telecom Engineering/Planning (Wireline/Wireless), and Fulfillment Services (LECs/MSOs). We are a nationwide provider with In House Team Members (fully trained/equipped) providing these services.


The Director of Business Development will be responsible for nurturing/developing the opportunities to meet/exceed the company’s annual sales and customer acquisition objectives.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Work with our HQ (Corporate) Team to improve marketing/branding strategies/tactics
  • Conduct research to identify new markets/customer opportunities, arrange business meetings with prospective clients, and assist with the deal close/onboarding process;
  • Identify the mechanisms for capturing new work, potential customer MSA cycles (RFPs), and key competitors operating in each business sector;
  • Identify appropriate regional industry organizations/events that U1 should support and attend – represent U1 at these events or with these organizations
  • Generate new Telecom, Wireless, and Engineering business opportunities to build a sales opportunity funnel to meet/exceed our annual sales targets yearly.;
  • Assist our VPs, Directors, and Program Managers in developing/expanding our current relationships with our clients by providing marketing/relationship development support.;
  • Work with HQ (Corporate)/Field Teams to develop proposals for our current/new clients;
  • Conduct market research to analyze/target business and acquisition (asset) opportunities;
  • Lead the development and execution of regional/client-specific/business sector-specific business development/marketing plans


Requirements


  • Demonstrated competence in client development and client relationship management;
  • Knowledge of and existing relationships with utility customers is desired;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently;
  • Experience working in Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Seamless, & Google applications is an advantage;
  • Highly ethical and professional with a commitment/passion for team success
  • 5+ years selling and/or developing projects in the Utility Industry;
