Parkwood Healthcare is recruiting for a hospitality focused Director of Admissions to join our team! The Admissions Director is responsible for managing the Health Center admissions process and for establishing and maintaining an open, effective communication between the facility and referral sources, physicians, and third party payers.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Director of Admissions:
- Processes all Medicare denial letters, Medicare certification and re-certifications and according to Medicare regulations.
- Maintains on-going census activity such as admissions, discharges, deaths, room transfers, changes in payment methods, and temporary and permanent apartment status.
- Obtains referrals from hospital social workers, physicians, or family members keeping wait lists current.
- Conducts admission interviews with the resident and/or responsible party, obtaining all required financial data, signatures, pertinent social information and medical information, attending physician information, and other pertinent and required documentation prior to admission.
- Functions as the Health Center public relations person, providing tours of the facility and pertinent information regarding admissions as well as occasional off-site visits to hospitals and doctor’s offices.
- Reviews all admission related paperwork with the resident and or/responsible party including Medicare Part A coverage and non-coverage procedures. Maintains all nonmedical record related paperwork in an admissions file for each resident.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- Must possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Good working knowledge of Medicare Part A and certification procedures.
- Experience in a long-term care setting desired.
