EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Undergraduate Programs - Haslam College of Business
Regular full time, exempt, Market Range 15
The Haslam College of Business invites applications for an Executive for Undergraduate Programs. The position is responsible for managing the Haslam College of Business undergraduate student experience (7200 students and approximately 1,500 minors). This task is accomplished by providing comprehensive academic and educational program planning that promotes integrity and responsibility within a diverse environment. Areas of responsibility include: curriculum coordination, development and delivery; management of classroom facilities; prerequisite checking, enforcement and enrollment management; academic program delivery of Business Administration (BUAD) 100 – the freshman seminar, Venture Learning Living Community, Smith Global Leadership Scholars (GLS); academic advising; management of the recruitment, retention, admissions and graduation processes; support HCB student organizations; management of longitudinal student data; and administration and coordination of college and departmental scholarship programs. The position serves as the Dean’s designee for review and approval/denial of all exceptions to undergraduate policy and disciplinary actions. Additionally, the position serves at the discretion of the dean to support and contribute to delivery of the college’s mission.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as advisor to and stand in for college deans as needed
  • Oversight or orientation processes
  • Financial oversight of Undergraduate Programs Office
  • Oversight of graduation and commencement processes
  • Manage all academic advising and planning each semester, including scheduled appointments and on demand services
  • Coordination and management of undergraduate program curriculum delivery
  • Maintenance and reporting of student data
  • Advising assessments, interventions, and retention
  • Serve as Language and World Business liaison
  • Oversight of content and delivery of freshman seminar – Business Administration 100
  • Oversight of all HCB scholarship programs, with approximately $3 Million awarded annually
  • Provide broad-based policy interpretation and guidance
  • Supervise, develop and evaluate department staff
  • Develop and implement strategies for the Undergraduate Programs Office operations
  • Serve on college- and campus-wide committees and councils
  • Responsible for updating all catalog changes and facilitating the evolution of undergraduate publications
  • Oversight of Venture Living Learning Community
  • Participate in development and management of the Haslam Leaders program (BUAD 100, 200, 300, 405)
  • Collaboration with departments of Math, Communication Studies, and English to deliver a year-long freshmen experience
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience
  • Master’s Degree
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in academic advising
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in business education
  • Budgetary experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Skills in communication, judgment, research, and negotiation
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty, and other staff
