Job Description

    At DraftKings, we're inspired by our shared passion for developing creative solutions to complex challenges and empowering the people around us to do their best work. We are industry leaders in the digital entertainment and technology space and are propelled by constant curiosity and diverse perspectives.

    BUILDING THE POSSIBILITIES:

    We’re seeking a Director, Internal Communications with deep strategic, global communications expertise to join the DraftKings communications team. We’re an agile, fast paced and international company where you’ll strategically create a cohesive narrative that resonates with the entire organization. This role will serve as a critical internal leader and liaison with executives across the company. Your day-to-day efforts will also include partnering with various departments and managing large company meetings, executive communications, and the intranet.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO AS DIRECTOR, INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS:

    • Oversee near-term and long-lead projects across company verticals spanning Sportsbook, Daily Fantasy, Casino, and Marketplace while providing creative and strategic counsel through a communications lens.
    • Build and execute proactive communications plans to inform and unite employees across the globe in an engaging and authentic way.
    • Responsible for managing communications surrounding product launches, business partnerships, new market entries, HR initiatives, corporate social responsibility endeavors, executive event appearances, influencer spokespeople, and more.
    • Collaborate cross-department to deliver employee communications that resonate and align with the company narrative.
    • Manage and inspire existing team members to produce high quality, effective content.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

    • Upbeat attitude with a willingness to adopt a team-first mentality to get in the trenches together;
    • Collaborative working style—our comms team is small and agile. While we have dedicated coverage areas, we all jump in and work together to support each other when company priorities require all hands on deck or specific problem-solving.
    • Ability to blend creative vision with strategic execution and bring a fresh perspective to present and future opportunities, including entirely new ideas not being considered;
    • Experience utilizing a range of communications platforms to create comprehensive strategies and dynamic narratives;
    • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders across an organization, delegating efficiently and effectively where necessary, and guiding direct reports on project and time management;
    • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to work seamlessly with internal stakeholders;
    • At least 12-15 years of relevant work experience at an in-house communications team;
    • A passion for writing and the ability to craft clear and concise prose and tell stories that resonate;
    • Extreme attention to detail;
