Job Description
Trilogy Federal provides financial management, information technology (IT) consulting, program management services, and strategic consulting to federal agencies. Trilogy Federal is looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to join our growing company and support our federal client. Our ideal candidate will effectively contribute towards our team goals in a cross-functional role and ensure exceptional customer experience for our client and their employees. We are looking for skilled candidates to work 100% on-site at the Client’s office in Washington DC.

Domestic travel is anticipated but not planned at this time. The maximum travel anticipated is no more than 1 trip per month, if at all. Selected candidates must be open and able to travel by plane.

Please note this position is contingent upon award.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides group facilitation and interviews subject matter experts to prepare a wide variety of communication products.
  • Identifies client needs and coordinates communications development to ensure deliverables meet all requirements and deadlines.
  • Actively seeks out and has an ability to understand organizational functions, how they interrelate to support business processes, and the management of information needs.
  • Synthesizes client inputs into clear and concise communications for various audiences across the organization.
  • Builds out and manages an editorial calendar.
  • Evaluates and creates effective communication to be used within the organization to ensure effective information is delivered to organization staff.
  • Supports the delivery of organizational development communications across the organization.
  • Develops and manages communications products (PowerPoint presentations, fact sheets, HTML emails, web content, brochures, flyers, newsletter articles, video scripts, interview guides, etc.) to facilitate awareness, buy-in, and adoption of organizational culture/organizational change by a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Assists in developing internal communication strategies and develops engaging messages to promote a positive and cohesive organizational culture.
  • Develops and executes internal communications plans and supports communications related to significant organizational change.
  • Supports the development of strategies related to communications, organizational development, and change management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to establish rapport with client stakeholders across the organization
  • Self-starter able to work independently and within a team
  • Effective project management skills and familiarity with project management principles, including a demonstrated ability to manage and track multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an analytical curiosity
  • Ability to develop basic graphics and layouts in PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, or other programs to enhance communications products
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience and knowledge of communications, organizational development, and change management tools
  • 10 years of overall professional experience
  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop moderately complex visual graphics and layouts in PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, or other programs to enhance communications products
  • Experience with qualitative research (surveys, in-depth interviewing, focus groups, etc.)
  • Experience working with or for the US federal government (Department of Veterans Affairs preferred), or a large healthcare system
  • Experience developing 508-compliant communications
  • Experience working with communications metrics (web metrics, newsletter delivery, etc.)

$80,000 - $125,000 a year
This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands.
