POSITION SUMMARY:
Work in tandem with Executive Director on the innovation and development of quality products that meet brand strategy and are launched within Marketing Calendar timeframes. Specifically eye category initiatives. Candidates must be experienced, independent, professional and flexible, have exceptional communication skills, have proficiency in Calendar, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and possess the ability to independently manage multiple tasks efficiently
This role is temporary starting ASAP lasting until end of December 2023, helping to cover a parental leave.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop global Eye product initiatives including product launches and line extensions, that focus on the largest global opportunities and well as meet regional needs:
- Conceptualize new product launches with PD VP, SVP, Marketing ED & VP.
- Present long-term strategic objectives to Senior Management.
- Collaborate with Marketing counterpart in the development of 3 year product planning, global and regional marketing calendars; prepare new strategies and programs.
Champion and lead collaborative behavior by ensuring smooth product introduction and execution:
- Manage all aspects of program implementation with cross functional partner groups to build stronger synergies amongst our teams (Includes but not limited to R&D, Marketing, GBSC; Packaging; Design; GSR; Creative; Quality Assurance; Education; Global Communication).
- Ensure key timetables dates are met in coordination with GBSC.
- Initiate projects and maintain relationships with in-house R&D and current vendors
- Meet with Marketing, Packaging, GBSC, and R&D weekly to discuss ongoing programs and troubleshoot any potential issues.
- Work with Artist Testing team and Marketing to craft questionnaires that accurately reflect positioning of products to be tested.
Develop talent and capabilities by leading Assistant Manager and seasonal interns
- Oversee all product profiles and buzz sheets generated by team which direct product performance and positioning.
- Ensure accurate implementation of technical details by the team (oversee review and re-direction of new formulas and product re-formulation until desired attributes and performance are achieved)
- Assign individual responsibility for all US and foreign (excluding Canada) on-site shade and formula development and production approval.
- Do a final review all Technical Data Sheets, Artist Test Questionnaires, and training materials to ensure accuracy to original concept.
- Energize and enable others in adhering to the individual pillars of authority in the development of each and every product and shade.
Energize brand community by:
- Representing the brand to corporate, field employees, and retailers.
- Presenting new initiatives to key retailers and in-house corporate teams.
- Meeting with Makeup Artists at International and Regional Roundtable meetings.
- Presenting new product launches and color initiatives at semi-annual sales meetings.
Think strategically by:
- Attending industry conferences and lectures to keep informed of new product and packaging directions and trends.
- Analyzing competitive trends in all distribution channels and markets to ensure all product launches and positioning are ahead of the market curve.
- Creating, with Marketing teams, category reviews that analyze market innovations, formula and shade voids and redundancies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexibility in travel.
- Multi-functional, flexible to handle ever changing priorities.
- Position requires 8-10+ years relevant experience; color background preferred.
- Well versed in social media and social network activities and trends.
- Undergraduate College degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to think creatively and brainstorm new approaches, ingredients or ideas.
- Excellent organization, communication and follow-through skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Job requires both domestic and foreign travel.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation-based communication skills.
- Strong skills in tactile/aesthetic evaluation of cosmetic products as well as the ability to communicate product understanding.
