The Role


The Director, of Lifestyle Brands leads the ongoing strategic positioning and experience development of Hyatt’s Lifestyle portfolio. This role will design, build the business case for, and oversee cross-functional implementation of global brand standards and experiences. Working with senior stakeholders across the enterprise, the Director, of Lifestyle Brands will identify, solve, and act upon opportunities that increase brand affinity and brand health and drive global consistency.


With a heavy focus on amplifying and maintaining global brand relevance and differentiation, the Director of Lifestyle Brands will help guide and collaborate with brilliant teams around the world—from Design and Operations to Communications and Consumer Insights—to develop and shape our brands in a way that is relevant to today’s culturally connected guests and offers unique, meaningful experiences in this highly competitive and growing segment.


This position will report to the Vice President, Global Brands, Lifestyle & Luxury


  • Proactively monitor and understand global consumer sentiment, competitive set + landscape, lifestyle + cultural trends, and aspirational brands outside of hospitality to assess competitive position, build on brand strengths, and innovate in the lifestyle space
  • Steward of the lifestyle brands that articulate and support the brand promise(s), vision, position, and architecture to drive overall business goals
  • Leverage brand health + performance data to both inform strategic approach and identify and develop dynamic, cutting-edge initiatives + product offerings at scale
  • Establishes and communicates a compelling and inspired vision that engages, inspires, and galvanizes the organization around the lifestyle portfolio’s vision and brand positioning and strategies to provide clarity in bringing them to life in each functional area
  • Responsible for applying strategic thinking to proposed brand experience changes to drive brand preference including operational and financial impact on hotels
  • Follows a guest-centered design approach to innovation to build a unique, meaningful, highly relevant lifestyle brand experience through all consumer touchpoints. Works collaboratively with operations, procurement, and hotel teams to identify and develop new initiatives/offerings.
  • Develop long-term global brand experience strategy, framework, and roadmap to drive consistency, innovation, and differentiation and increase brand affinity


Qualifications


Experience Required:


  • Strong understanding of social media channels and strategies
  • Actively engaged in creating and influencing spaces that allow room for openness, diversity, and mindset/culture shifts that inspire and foster inclusivity
  • International/global experience a plus
  • Proven track record of lifestyle brand building and strategic marketing through the entire guest experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in environments where there are competing resources and priorities, global operations, and at times a high degree of ambiguity
  • 7+ years of progressive brand leadership experience (could include Agency experience) of iconic consumer lifestyle brands—preferably focused on the “consumer experience” within the hospitality, luxury, or fashion/retail industries
  • History of delivering results and implementing change
  • Must be a dynamic leader with a proven track record of evaluating, identifying, and executing against strategic opportunities
  • Creative/innovative approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to act entrepreneurially in a large, established company
  • A highly effective communicator with a more than basic understanding and mastery of presentation development tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Keynote)
