Laboratory Equipment (LE) is a $1.3B+ business within Life Science and Laboratory Products Group (LSLPG) which offers a broad set of differentiated products and services primarily serving Biotech, Pharma, Healthcare, Diagnostic and Academic markets. LE is a global business with 3,400 employees, 8 main manufacturing sites and numerous distribution hubs and service depots supported by a global finance team. The business has significant exposure to high growth markets and is focused on providing fit for purpose solutions to our customers.

Seeking a Finance leader who will provide finance and business partnering to the global LE leadership team. They will own an FP&A team of 4 members along with critical dotted line reporting structures. This role will improve analytics and ensure strong financial controls and timely and accurate financial reporting. In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify, and implement operational improvement opportunities and develop a strong finance team. The location of this job is in Waltham, MA or Asheville, NC.

What you will do:

As the Director FP&A you are a key contributor to the overall success of the division. Supported by a capable team, you will provide financial planning and analysis leadership to the Division. You will engage with the BU and Regional teams around the world to provide insights into our financial performance and guide performance improvements to achieve our annual goals.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate world class partnership to operating partners including managing and forecasting operating expense and capital spend
• Build and develop a strong team
• Develop and lead analytical methods for exploratory and explanatory business insights
• Drive monthly forecasting, annual operating plan and future planning (AOP / STRAP), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), in a matrixed environment, ensuring financial decisions support company goals and current market conditions
• Support M&A activity
• Champion financial operational improvement across the division
• Lead implementation and ongoing management of centralized multi-dimensional ERP and reporting solutions and visualization tools
• Provide strategic guidance to business partners to capitalize on opportunities
• Provide day-to-day finance leadership for LE FP&A and business partnership for the division’s operating teams to drive business performance

How you will get here:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business-related field required; CPA, CMA

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Well-developed analytical skills, including solid background in driving actions from data insights and using strong analysis to present a situation to management
• Self-motivated with a high level of flexibility and a strong work ethic to get the job done
• Highly skilled in use of information technology such as SAP ERP and Hyperion Financial Management, knowledge of relational databases
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills spanning functional and business team members including executive level
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP with public company / corporate finance experience
• Proven experience applying intellectual curiosity to uncover insights and differentiated outcomes where others could not
