Overview:

Professional Requirements:
Position Summary:

Provides direction for daily operational planning, management, and oversight of construction projects. This position will also work with the Facilities Manager to utilize staff members for facility development. Effectively communicates relevant information within the department and throughout the hospital. Provides sound construction project management practices while working with architectural, engineering, and construction management personnel in matters involving general construction and renovation.
  • Works closely with architects and engineers throughout design and construction phases.
  • Establishes costs, estimates, and time frames for projects.
  • Provide problem solving strategies identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Conducts inspections of projects using accountability procedures and documentation.
  • Conducts and attends construction meetings as required.
  • Prepares scope of work for projects.
  • Assist in facility planning and space administration, including strategic planning relating to facility usage.
Professional Requirements:
  • Assists department management in the resolution and evaluation of problem situations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment capabilities, limitations, and appropriate/special applications.
  • Attends staff meetings and actively participates, reads and returns all staff meeting minutes.
  • Demonstrates a positive professional image; performs responsibilities in a professional manner; demonstrates flexibility in the provision of patient care/service; utilizes a collaborative approach with co-workers.
  • Communicates with physicians, administrative staff, co-workers, and patients/families in a respectful and caring manner.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQl) activities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to access and use computer systems.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in the work setting with changing assignments, varying staffing levels and patient care environments, and completes work on time.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
  • Assumes other duties as required.
  • Consistently demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the procedures for reporting and responding to facility emergencies such as fire, and disruption in utilities and hazardous materials spills.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education preferred.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Construction Management.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
  • Fire Card - may be obtained within 30 days from date of hire.
  • Construction Management Certification preferred.

Salary range is based on years of experience: $109,595 - $163,404 Annually
