Job Description
Who We Are:
Job Title: Director, Educational Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Academics
Position Summary: The Director of Educational Services provides vision and leadership by managing all educational support programming, including the Learning Resource Center, English Language Learning, English Language Center, Assessment Center, and oversight of the tutoring program. In addition, this role will work closely with the Director of Admission to review aspiring students' profiles during the admission process. This leadership position is responsible for formulating instructional goals and objectives and providing leadership and accountability for IMG Academy Educational Services. This 12-month, full-time position reports directly to the Head of School or designee.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs assigned staff, develops program priorities, and assigns tasks and projects; assures that appropriate services are provided, and goals are defined and achieved; develops staff skills and conducts performance evaluations; meets regularly with staff and other department leaders to discuss and resolve priorities, workload, critical concerns, and technical issues.
  • Consult, communicate, and work cooperatively with teams to provide appropriate programming for students and maintain a positive work environment for all.
  • Serves as the custodian of related educational accommodation records
  • Evaluate the structure of each oversight program while also creating efficient systems of record keeping, progress monitoring, and growth indicators.
  • Ensures that all practices in the assigned are legal and ethical for each student/family so that each student can achieve at a high level and be prepared for post-secondary success.
  • Organizes, coordinates, and oversees personnel providing specialized program support services.
  • Implement an effective referral and follow-up process with necessary division across campus (enrollment, admissions, sport advisors)
  • Facilitate meetings and provide training to various staff specific to the program's functions.
  • Provide overall direction of the program personnel and students for daily operations.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Create or curate supplemental resources, as needed, to strengthen the ESOL curriculum.
  • Develop programs to provide support to students (tutoring, enrichment, remediation)
  • Perform continuous program improvement.
  • Grow the Learning Resource Center (LRC), ELL Programming, and English Language Center (ELC) in alignment with IMG Core Values and Mission.
  • Work with families (current and new) over the summer to prepare students with accommodations for the upcoming school year.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Supplemental Instruction (SI) program.
  • Capture and utilize data to inform programming decisions and planning for staff and student success.
  • Design scope and sequences aligned to the ESOL curriculum.
  • Sets staffing levels for related educational programs to provide services with fiscal efficiency
Knowledge of:
  • Intervention practices in the areas of Multi-Tiered System(s) of Support (MTSS), Response to intervention (RTI)
  • Program evaluation and project planning.
  • Techniques for improving communications with persons using English as a second language.
  • Analyzing psychoeducational evaluations to identify appropriate accommodations
  • Customer service methods and practices.
  • Principles of record keeping and records management.
Skill in:
  • Analyzing problems and developing effective solutions.
  • Managing staff, delegating tasks and authority, and coaching to improve staff performance.
  • Working closely and effectively with stakeholders from a variety of cultures and languages.
  • Provides clear communication in a proactive and timely manner with all stakeholders
  • ESOL is English to Speakers of Other Languages endorsement is preferred.
  • Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills, including conflict resolution
  • Ability to use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's level degree preferred.
  • Candidates with a valid Exceptional Student Education (ESE) certificate are preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in academic leadership - preferably with an understanding of independent schools
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
