Job Description

Our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!


This role sits in the Portfolio and Program Strategy organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products. In this role you will be accountable for the financial performance and technical compliance of the Disney Signature Experiences (DSE) Tech & Digital portfolio. This role combines strategic business/project planning, portfolio management, traditional PMO, Security and Compliance planning and delivery for 6 separate businesses and corresponding P&Ls.


The Director, DSE Portfolio & Project Management will report to the Vice President-Portfolio and Program Strategy.


What You'll Do


  • Leads steering committees with the businesses to drive priorities, communicate program and project updates, socialize roadmaps and capital investments, etc.
  • Leads organizational Town Halls, Cast Round Tables, Team Builders and other Cast Engagement activities
  • Leads the DSE Portfolio Management Team which includes he creation of all capital requests (CARs), partnering directly with the site finance teams to drive the proforma, identifying value streams with the business, and socializing with site steering committees
  • Leads the accounting, sourcing and invoicing process for businesses outside of the traditional WDAT cost center (Disney Cruise Line only)
  • Leads, develops and mentors a team of leaders and individual contributors (both Cast and contractors)
  • Owns business planning for the DSE Technology & Digital organization including strategic planning, long range planning (LTP) and the annual budget process (ACP/AOP)
  • Ownership over all Security and Compliance audits and program management of open vulnerabilities. This is inclusive of leading an offshore team responsible for User ID audits/reviews, PCI, PII, SOX, etc.
  • Crafts executive-level presentations and communications for the VP, Technology and Digital
  • Leads the DSE Project Management Organization which includes operating a multi-business PMO to supervise program status, risks, project blockers, and senior executive communications
  • Drives complex, strategic programs through planning, forecasting and reporting ensuring teams meet their program commitments
  • Operational accountability for project financial processes (monthly forecasts, variance explanations, accruals, invoicing, resource allocations and submissions)


Required Qualifications


  • Proven experience in working with and leading product vendors and influencing their product roadmap based on Company needs
  • Strong proficiency with the KPIs that define a successful technology organization (systems availability, performance and scalability, resource allocation, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and partnering skills with abilities to navigate in a matrix organization
  • Demonstrated experience with project financials and annual budgeting processes
  • Proven expertise in leading leaders with strong people leadership and management skills
  • Ability to mentor, teach and train emerging technology professionals
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • 10+ years’ experience with the planning and execution of large scale technology initiatives with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to be flexible in approach and manage through areas of uncertainty


Required Education


  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Highly preferred domain expertise in the cruise, timeshare, and small group travel industries
  • Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in the field of Computer Science
  • Prior experience with cybersecurity and/or security & compliance for technology applications
