DIRECTOR, CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT AND STRATEGY

THE RUNDOWN

Playfly Sports is looking for a Director, Corporate Development and Strategy to join our team in New York, NY.


The Director, Corporate Development & Strategy will work on a small strategy team to assist in the development and execution of the evaluation, financial and operational strategy for potential mergers, acquisitions and divestiture projects for Playfly. The Director will work alongside the top executive team throughout the full acquisition process from sourcing through deal execution.


WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Other job-related duties as assigned
  • Assist the Chief Strategy Officer in leading the Company’s Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) function to facilitate Playfly's buy & build acquisition strategy
  • Support Executive leaders in the modelling and analysis of new relative price funds (RPF), acquisition and initiatives and report on expected impact on the business
  • Participate in company’s planning, budgeting and reporting processes; assist in the development of Playfly’s annual financial plan
  • Prepare presentations and financial reports for quarterly Board Meetings
  • Conduct industry research and competitive analyses to build out short & long-term company strategy and discover potential acquisition opportunities
  • Project manage M&A activities from start to finish spanning from due diligence, modeling, vendor management, working with functional groups to underwrite synergies, and acquisition integration


WHAT YOU’LL BRING


  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining complex financial models
  • Fast learner with a desire to move with urgency, accountability, and intent
  • Ability to synthesize and convey complex business and marketing concepts effectively
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to approach all communications with a sensitive and empathetic approach
  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate strategy, finance, investment banking, consulting or similar field
  • Experience leading successful M&A projects and transactions
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or similar field, required
  • Strategic planner with the ability to plan and execute upon a defined task or strategy
  • Innovative and creative thinker with the ability to derive best practices with demonstrated ability to express complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Expert level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)


TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to frequently travel to business unit operations as required
  • This position takes place primarily in a quiet, office setting


COMPENSATION

The pay range for this role is $130,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
