Summary:
The Director of Community Health is responsible for developing and implementing community-based health programs for health promotion and disease/injury prevention. Program selection and implementation should be based on data, evidence-base, policy implications, and best practices. This role includes strategic mission-aligned development, department operations, staff management, fiscal and contract responsibility, strong internal an external partnership competencies, and strong communication and public spokesperson skills.

Description
1. Leads the development and implementation of health promotion and disease and injury prevention programs, by utilizing evidence based programs and best practices, establishing system-wide delivery, while assuring program fidelity. Regularly reviews programs for effectiveness.
2. Leads and integrates strategy work, as it relates to community health, by operationalizing strategic efforts.
3. Creates positive visibility for health promotion and disease/injury prevention work in community, across the system, and with organizational partners.
4. Leads departmental operations, including budgets, compliance, and contract and staff management.
5.Provides strategic oversight and management of the organization’s high priority partners and networks opportunities.
6. Leverages system operations to advance patient and community health.
7. Operationalizes new systems and structures to advance the mission of the organization.
8.Organizes and leads teams through influence, including coalitions, internal and external teams, and partnerships, in order to advance child health in Arkansas.
9. Knowledge of public health communication best practices to influence behavior and intention to change.
10. Elevates issues, creates transparency and builds trust.
