Job Description
Chewy is seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented, creative, and analytical Digital Marketing Manager - YouTube Strategy to join our Social & Programmatic team and support our digital marketing efforts.


The primary focus of this role is to lead the overall YouTube and YouTube Shorts strategy at Chewy and partner closely with the Trading Manager who will execute in-platform. This marketing leader will leverage digital marketing leadership to develop and own the strategy, GTM approach, and channel roadmap for YouTube. This marketing leader will also develop and own creative strategy and best practices, tactical mix by funnel phase, incrementality testing, and assisting the Trading Manager with reporting needed to monitor performance vs. objectives.


This role will need to partner with other marketing functions across the Marketing organization such as brand marketing, healthcare marketing, integrated marketing, creative, and analytics as well as external marketing vendors to maximize the impact of YouTube on Performance Marketing objectives and the Chewy business overall. The mindset that will succeed on this team is one that maniacally focuses on the most granular elements of digital ad performance, such as creative response, proper investment allocation across funnel phases, ad format optimization, and audience segment/demographic performance on YouTube. The ideal candidate is relentless, data-driven, creative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role sits within our high-performing, metrics-driven Performance Marketing team that works collaboratively on strategies to drive new customer acquisition and new to Rx acquisition. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about marketing technology, data analysis, platform function, audience segmentation, and creative strategy to drive business results.


What You’ll Do


  • Lead strategy of structured YouTube tests around creatives, funnel phase mix, and overall channel effectiveness
  • Juggle multiple projects and prioritize time while working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing organization without structured processes in place
  • Blend creativity and analytical skills with a strong results-oriented, metrics-driven approach to problem solving and campaign management
  • Collaborate with other marketing functions across the Marketing organization such as brand marketing, healthcare marketing, integrated marketing, creative, and analytics as well as external marketing vendors to maximize the impact of YouTube on Performance Marketing objectives
  • Own the YouTube creative strategy across funnel phases
  • Analyze campaign performance, creative performance, identify trends, and proactively recommend opportunities for performance improvement at a weekly and monthly cadence
  • In partnership with Trading (platform execution) Manager, work with ad platform vendors to drive campaign performance and ensure campaigns are leveraging the latest ad technology
  • Lead the overall large-scale YouTube and YouTube Shorts strategy, GTM approach, and channel roadmap


What You’ll Need


  • Intermediate Excel skills required (vlookups, pivot tables)
  • Ability to deeply analyze data and tell a story in weekly campaign performance reporting and monthly creative performance reporting
  • Demonstrated cross-team collaboration experience
  • Demonstrated channel and team leadership experience, with ownership of channel objectives and roadmap
  • 4+ years of experience in large-scale digital video strategy, ideally YouTube
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required
  • Experience in the Google Ads platform (this role won’t be executing in Google Ads, but should understand the platform and know how to operate within it)
  • A go-getting attitude who is passionate about driving business results and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to thrive in gray area and independently chart a course for execution
  • Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, economics, mathematics, finance or related field


Strong Bonus


  • Deep understanding of YouTube ad products, and which to use across different funnel phases
  • Experience with large-scale geo-tests to prove channel incrementality
  • Deep understanding of YouTube creative best practices across funnel phases


Compensation & Benefits


Our salary range for a job title position is $78,500-$152,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
