Job Description
ViaPath is seeking Digital Forensic Analyst. The responsibility of the Digital Forensic Analyst will be to provide direct forensic services to customer staff. While in this critical position, you will have the opportunity to utilize your training and experience to forensically extract data from legally seized cellular devices, analyzing said data, and assist investigative staff in the development of actionable intelligence within the facilities and outside law enforcement. The selected candidate will be team oriented, capable of multitasking, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.


This position will be located at our client's offices/lab in Tallahassee, FL.


  • Submit detailed reports to supervisor’s and facility regarding forensic and intelligence processes and findings
  • Obtain and retain forensic certifications and forensic extraction techniques and best practices
  • Demonstrate understanding and performance of data extraction and data analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Assist facility with investigations by utilizing specialized software provided for forensic data extraction, data mining and link analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an interest and ability to conduct analysis and report on findings
  • At least 2 years of Law Enforcement intelligence gathering and investigations experience is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to learn ViaPath and third-party software applications within the first six months of hire
  • Prepared to testify in court or other administrative related hearings as needed
  • Ability to develop a fundamental understanding of intelligence processes in a correctional environment to include institutional operations and criminal procedures
  • Analyze data to establish trends within the facility and potential areas of interest
  • Digital Forensics experience is desired
  • Ability to obtain and/or retain basic and advanced forensic certifications to include logical and physical data extractions and chip-off techniques
  • Participation in court or other administrative related hearings
  • Forensic extraction techniques and best practices certifications are desired (MSAB, Cellebrte, etc.)
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of departmental and corporate policies, and/or industry best practices surrounding the handling of electronic evidence
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of investigative and intelligence processes to include the intelligence cycle
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (or four years of related experience in lieu of a degree or a combination of education/experience) required. A concentration in Criminal Justice or a Intelligence-related field is preferred
