Summary


The Digital Producer K-12 Math position resides within the Math Business Unit and is responsible for the digital development of K-12 programs in Math. Under the leadership of a Manager of Math Technology, the Digital Producer will play a critical role in building digital products. Digital Producers have the responsibility for developing web/mobile-based content, curriculum, and products to meet specific standards and instructional needs of teachers and students, as well as industry technology standards. The candidate will have an excellent understanding of digital development processes and tools and bring to the position skills to build market-winning product offerings.


SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB


The work of the digital producer will impact K-12 education by helping to bring 21 st -century learning products to market. The decisions made by the digital producer will influence the success of the Math product offerings. The scope of the work will encompass a wide range of multimedia formats on a variety of platforms and delivery devices (IWBs/Web/LMS platforms/mobile delivery) available today, and new devices and platforms in the future.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Ensuring products meet high QA standards.
  • Selecting, contracting, scheduling, and overseeing external freelancers and vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Design, develop, and maintain curriculum content using Company software applications and authoring tools.
  • Follows current trends and research on innovations and educational technology.
  • Develop project plans appropriate for the scope and complexity of each project. This includes delivering planning artifacts, working with the core team, providing financial forecasts, and communicating with functional management to ensure awareness of project status and needed resources.
  • Managing inputs and outputs to the Company’s databases and platforms, working with others to upload files and spreadsheets to the Company’s web applications, and reviewing and approving online content.
  • Planning, documenting and communicating processes in collaboration with others.
  • Updating existing test item databases with new state standards in collaboration with other editors and correlations specialists.
  • Work on cross-functional team projects by providing leadership with a focus on cost, schedule, quality, scope, and communication toward the successful delivery of various types of technology products.


Required Knowledge And Experience


  • Proven experience managing cross-functional project teams with team members located in multiple locations.
  • The ideal candidate has at least three to four years of experience in educational publishing or a technology-related field and a proven ability to complete projects on schedule and on budget. The candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, exhibited sound judgment, experience using Microsoft Office, and an aptitude for learning new software applications. A B.S./B.A. degree is required.
  • Experience in critical roles working on multi-million dollar projects.
  • A balanced combination of both academic and practical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong analytical and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and other project management and budget tracking tools.
  • Ability to build bridges with the various internal business units and strong relationships with vendors.
  • High degree of flexibility and tolerance for change.
  • An understanding of critical and creative thinking. Proven decision-making skills as well as objective and methodical problem analysis and appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.


Desired Skills


  • Knowledge of educational publishing products and processes, including eBook formats and learning management systems
  • Expertise in documentation creation and management
  • Familiarity with various authoring and programming tools, including but not limited to HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Prior experience with Content Management Systems
