Position Summary
Hello, brilliant and engaging digital copy leader with agency or client-side experience.
We need your strategic thinking and creativity to lead a team of copywriters and define search strategy for our global client base of leading brands.
You are both a doer and a builder. You believe in the power of words and can craft compelling and conversion-driving product copy. You are a confident manager with experience in guiding copywriters and achieving deadlines. You are innately curious and strive for insights to inform strategy and approach. You are future-forward and understand that shopper behavior and retailer standards are constantly evolving.
You will:
  • Manage proof-reading resources
  • Manage copy resources and copywrite SEO product copy for eCommerce retailer and DTC pages
  • Define retailer-specific strategies and stay abreast of evolving retailer standards
  • Partner with account and design teams to provide copy for imagery, video, A+ / enhanced content pages
  • Oversee and maintain search strategy to define highly ranked keywords

Job Responsibilities
  • Initiate and implement agency business and creative goals. Provide input to new business acquisition and account teams to understand prospective client needs.
  • Ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Coordinates, assigns, and provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned staff.
  • Manage budgeting guidelines on all projects including internal and external resources, staffing, external spending.
  • Participates in the interview process and provides hire/termination recommendations to management.
  • Budgetary responsibilities typically limited to producing short-term results determined by more senior management.
  • Administers and assists with implementing policies and procedures that affect direct reports.
  • Provides input and may prepare performance reviews.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain creative copy, concept, product copy in a variety of channels for multiple clients based on their brand strategy. Participate in the development of the verbal brand audit and strategy for clients. Insure client expectations are met at all times.
  • Developing new client copy guidelines and informing copy style guide standards. Partnering with other creative peers.
  • Follows established practices and procedures to resolve routine problems
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assigns and delegates work to the creative team. Communicates the creative intent and quality level to the team.
  • Provides feedback to managers regarding training needs and pay increase for staff.
  • Manage and mentor the creative team. Maintain a partnership with Account, Creative, and Production staff.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships by regularly meeting with clients, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • 6+ years of previous Communications, Journalism experience.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
