Development & Marketing Director

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine

Portland, Maine




We are working with our client, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine, in seeking a Development & Marketing Director, to be based in their Portland, Maine office. This is an on-site position.




Requirements of the Development & Marketing Director:

  • Ability to travel as needed for conferences and trainings and work outside of normal business hours for house or community events
  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 to 5 years of related non-profit experience such as development, public/media relations, marketing, fundraising, event planning and/or grant writing
  • Proficient computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge, open-source software, and web-based applications; WordPress and InDesign skills a plus
  • Track record of establishing strong business, community, and customer service relationships
  • One to three years of supervision and management experience

Responsibilities of the Development & Marketing Director:

  • Events & Fundraising: oversee all statewide special events and fundraising campaigns; review and participate as liaison in all third-party/community events
  • Fund Development: identify, cultivate, and solicit philanthropic support by developing and maintaining relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Marketing: manage all marketing initiatives and platforms, including website, social media, print collateral, communication pieces, advertisements, photography and video, and radio/television; ensure maintenance of brand standards
  • Leadership: train, supervise, and evaluate the Special Events Manager and Community Engagement Manager; participate as a member of the Leadership Team
  • Community Engagement: promote the Chapter by speaking to prospective groups and organizations as requested to raise awareness of the work and ways to make an impact through charitable giving, volunteering, and advocacy
