Design Assistant – Apparel
Reports to Design Director
Full-time (On-site)
Location: Lebanon, TN

About the role:
We are looking to hire a well-organized, detailed, enthusiastic design assistant to join our team. In this role you will support the design director in the development of product from concept to production. This includes assisting in developing cad sketches, presentation materials, graphics, and tech packs throughout each season, as well as tracking development submissions and approval samples. Other responsibilities include size spec setup, development tracking, and assisting in special projects that help support the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, assist, and complete design tech packs and fabric development submissions
- Limited travel to seasonal markets
- Assist in garment audits (measurement and construction)
- CAD/render sketches with patterns, prints in Illustrator
- Strong Illustrator and Photoshop skills are a must
- Organize, track, and maintain fabric development library, log submissions
- Create line sheets for sales team
- Communicate with vendors daily relaying development feedback, sample requests, and product status updates
- Organize, track, and maintain garment samples, log submissions, coordinating distribution accordingly
Qualifications:
- Good interpersonal skills and team player attitude
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Basic apparel and fit knowledge
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs (Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associate's Degree in Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising or equivalent relevant experience
- Upbeat and positive attitude
- CAD skills for detailed sketches using Adobe Illustrator
- Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities
Preferred:
- Ecommerce (Shopify) and/or social marketing experience a plus
- 1+ years of experience in apparel design
