Job Description
Job Summary


The Department Administrator will oversee department operating accounts and approve expenditures. Monitor all department financial accounts. Prepare financial reports. Assist principal Investigators with grant budgets, bridge grants, funding Issues. Responsible for Anatomical Gift Program finances. Oversee departmental purchasing, determine accounts charged, negotiate service contracts and negotiate and procure capital equipment. Prepare and approve travel requests and payment vouchers. Oversee personnel activity for department. Responsible for recruitment, advertising, hiring, promotions, terminations, labor relation issues, compensation, funding resources for professional and support staff. Coordinate faculty recruitment. Assign graduate student stipends to appropriate accounts. Work with research and academic faculty, staff and students to assure departmental success.


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to multi-task and have excellent organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field. Previous experience in a research or academic setting.
