Louisiana Tech University seeks an experienced and innovative academic leader to serve as Dean of the College of Engineering and Science (COES). The College is a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment focused on innovations in both research and teaching.

Overall Louisiana Tech enrolls on average 11,038 students in a diverse range of high-quality programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Programs specific to the College of Engineering and Science include Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Engineering Technology, Cyber Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Molecular Science and Nanotechnology, Nanosystems Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics & Statistics, and Physics. Appropriate programs are accredited by the Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Computing Accreditation Commissions of ABET, , under the General Criteria and their respective Program Criteria. Centers include the Institute for Micromanufacturing, the Integrated STEM Education Research Center, the Center for Secure Cyberspace, the MALT Industrial Assessment Center, and the Trenchless Technology Center.

The Dean will develop and execute a clear vision for the college and will advance and implement the University’s strategic plan that focuses on academic and professional excellence, research and innovation partnerships, and an integrated environment enabling an unparalleled learning experience.

The Dean will develop and sustain productive relationships with internal and external constituencies, have a strong commitment to development efforts, provide documented experience with accreditation processes, and have a strong commitment to innovative and interdisciplinary programs from bachelor’s to doctoral levels.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a discipline offered in the College. The successful candidate must have the qualifications and accomplishments, which include demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and service with distinction in at least one of those areas, to earn tenure at full professor rank in a discipline offered in the College. Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience at the department or college level, including personnel management, is required.
