Job Description

HP Print’s Data Platform & Privacy’s (DPP) DataOS organization is looking for an experienced data engineer to lead and develop data quality initiative.

Scopes the requirements, develops the technical design, drives execution and delivery of data quality monitoring and alerts in our Data Product pipelines. Applies developed knowledge in DataOS data products and pipelines to lead in development of features in the data product pipelines that enable the monitoring, reporting, and alerting on data quality attributes. Works with architects and leads to develop data quality monitoring system that scales to cover all the data pipelines from ingestion to analytics ready data products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and communicates with project team regarding data quality reporting and monitoring.
  • Represents the data quality effort for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
  • Designs and establishes secure and performant data architectures, enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of data pipelines, repositories, or models for structured/unstructured data.
  • Develops quality plans and roadmap with input from the organization leaders and data product pipeline owners.
  • Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of data system or component; identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into data system architecture.
  • Leads a project team of other data engineers to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions around measuring and reporting data quality.
  • Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to represent complex algorithms in software.
  • Using data engineering tools, languages, frameworks to mine, cleanse, explore, and report on data.
  • Designing data systems/solutions to manage complex data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Fluent in SQL & relational based systems.

Scope & Impact

  • Collaborates with peers, junior engineers, data scientists and project team.
  • Leads a project requiring data engineering solutions development.
  • Typically interacts with high-level Individual Contributors, Managers and Program Teams.

Education & Experience

  • Typically, 4-6 years’ experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $101,500.00 - $156,350.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
