Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for Data Analyst - Investment Firm.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our investment firm's team and collaborate closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO). The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a strong understanding of financial data, and an advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. As a Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in gathering, analyzing, and presenting data-driven insights that support strategic investment decisions.
Responsibilities:
1.Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Interpret data and provide actionable insights to guide investment strategies and portfolio management.
- Conduct comprehensive quantitative analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data.
- Collect, organize, and analyze financial and investment-related data from various sources.
- Collaborate with the CIO to develop models and tools that enhance investment decision-making processes.
2.Financial Modeling and Forecasting:
- Validate and refine models by comparing projections against historical performance and external market factors.
- Assist in creating forecasts and scenarios that contribute to investment strategy formulation.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to project investment performance, risk assessment, and potential returns.
3.Reporting and Presentation:
- Create visually compelling reports and presentations that effectively communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Generate regular reports on investment performance, portfolio analysis, and market trends.
- Collaborate with the CIO to present findings and recommendations during investment committee meetings.
4.Data Integrity and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used for analysis.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies or anomalies in a timely manner.
- Implement data quality checks and validations to maintain high standards of data integrity.
5.Advisory Support:
- Assist in conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities, evaluating financial statements, and assessing market trends.
- Collaborate with the CIO to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for investment strategies, asset allocation, and risk management.
6.Continuous Learning and Skill Development:
- Seek opportunities for professional development to enhance both analytical and domain knowledge.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, financial regulations, and technological advancements relevant to data analysis in investment management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, data visualization, and automation using VBA or macros.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and programming languages (Python, R) is a plus.
- Proven experience in data analysis, financial modeling, and investment research.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, and portfolio management.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous.
