- (3255317)GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Harvard Aging Brain Study is seeking a full-time Neuroimaging Data Analyst for a research program at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. We investigate alterations in brain function, structure, cognition and molecular pathology in normal aging and Alzheimer's disease. This position joins the data processing and informatics team and will report to the Data Analytics Manager. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the maintenance of, and assist with the development of, neuroimaging pipelines and informatics systems. They will explore, adapt, and develop new neuroimage processing methods and imaging analysis techniques. The neuroimaging analyst will also assist various research projects in the modelling of neuroimaging data and the subsequent production of high-quality graphics, visualizations, and animations for use in publications and presentations. We see the skills that will be developed in this job as allowing the future candidate to successfully progress towards graduate programs in a variety of technical fields. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Take responsibility for the maintenance and use of various neuroimage processing pipelines.
2) Contribute significantly to the development of new processing pipelines and implement improvements to current pipelines.
3) Provide training and support to study coordinators regarding neuroimaging processing and analysis.
4) Work directly with Data & Informatics leadership on the testing, provisioning, and deployment of new informatics systems.
5) Manipulate large imaging datasets using both publicly available and bespoke internal toolsets.
6) Work with Data & Informatics leadership/Principal Investigators on the development of new neuroimaging methods.
7) Perform voxel and vertex-wise whole brain analyses for a wide variety of research projects, while aiding in determining correct modelling parameters.
8) Produce graphics and visualizations fit for publication.
9) Work with research team to provide access to multimodal imaging data and metadata.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Strong programming skills.
- Experience with neuroimaging principles and techniques, including the processing of imaging data.
- Proficiency with scripting languages, such as MATLAB or python, is required.
- Must have the maturity and organizational skills to take responsibility for critical lab processes and pipelines.
- Advanced computer skills, with the ability to manipulate large and varied datasets.
- Very detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to instruct and support others in the completion of complex imaging tasks.
- Must be highly motivated, well-organized, and personable.
- Exposure to other imaging packages is of interest but not essential (e.g., SPM, FreeSurfer, FSL, AFNI, ANTS, DCM2NII, HCP toolkit, etc…).
EDUCATION:
B.A., B.S. is required. Master’s level candidates or those with prior experience in neuroimaging are preferred. Training must be in the fields of neuroscience, computer science, applied mathematics or statistics. Individuals without formal training in these areas, but with the requisite experience and desired core skills will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of work experience is preferred. Experience through graduate research projects is applicable.
