Cyber Security Analyst - It

The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s office is seeking a savvy Cyber Security Analyst to join our unique and dynamic IT department.

The purpose of this position is to ensure the protection of networks, systems, applications, and data. The Cyber Security Analyst will help support the implementation and administration of information security policies, practices, procedures, and technologies. You’ll be equipped to perform cyber threat analysis and work with a team on response efforts. You will promote a culture of security awareness and seize opportunities to educate staff at all levels about security awareness concepts. The ideal candidate will embrace collaboration, have strong communication skills and be able to translate to non-technical users.

Examples of Duties

• Assists in the development and maintenance of IT security guidelines and procedures.
• Creates, reviews, and analyzes various types of security reports, including, but not limited to, risk assessments, compliance reports, audit logs, access logs, system logs, etc.
• Promotes security awareness by giving in-person training, creating and participating in security awareness training campaigns, facilitating phishing tests, publishing articles on security topics, etc.
• Helps manage the documentation efforts for all major security incidents involving the IT department.
• Assists with IT-related internal and external audits.
• Proactively reviews, investigates, and responds to real-time alerts within the environment.
• Remediates security incidents within the purview of the Security team.
• Monitors and reports on any misuse of accounts, security policy violations, etc.
• Continuously monitors security-related resources, such as, news articles, vendor publications, MS-ISAC/CISA reports, etc., for new and emerging cyber threats.
• Performs and initiates special assignments as necessary.
• Vets phishing emails and appropriately responds to any organizational phishing threats.
• Performs security assessments on systems using various tools, including, but not limited to, vulnerability scanners, endpoint detection and response (EDR), endpoint/anti-malware protection, etc.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of security tools, such as, endpoint protection/anti-malware systems, EDR, vulnerability scanners, SIEM systems, etc.
• Knowledge of hardware, network technologies (LAN/MAN/WAN), and data communication.
• Ability to run phishing test campaigns.
• Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
• Ability to teach security awareness concepts.
• Knowledge of operating systems, including, but not limited to, Windows, Linux/AIX, mac OS, iOS.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
• Ability to provide high-level customer service.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to analyze data of various types.
• Knowledge of data classification and compliance tools.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Cloud platforms, such as, Azure and AWS.
• Ability to understand and apply the FDLE Security Policy.
• Industry-related certification(s), such as, Security+, CySA+, CISSP, CISA, etc.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.
• Knowledge of application development and hacking techniques.
• Knowledge of standards and frameworks, such as, ITIL, NIST, and COBIT.

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field supplemented by three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in IT security, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,540.00 - $68,412.00 per year
