Custodian / Parts Runner Jobs

Primary Job Duties

Perform custodial duties including cleaning restrooms and breakroom, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, burnishing linoleum floors, removing garbage, stocking supplies and recommending supplies that are needed, and running errands in a company vehicle. Must be able to work with company supplied small hand tools and electrical testers to repair minor damage to the facility and faulty lighting. Must be willing to work in high areas using fall protection. Duties include snow removal using shovels and a snow blower on sidewalks and entrances.

Requirements

• Be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to perform moderate physical activity
• Be able to stand/walk during entire 8 hour shift, except for allowed breaks
• Must Position Summary The Small Farm Specialist will assist the Innovative Small Farmers' Outreach Program (ISFOP), make farm visits, provide research, promote assistance to Urban Agriculture, and conduct workshops.

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

• Promote and provide assistance to Urban Agriculture and Community Gardens.
• Coordinate and supervise the activities of other Farm Outreach Workers.
• Conduct farm visits and provide technical support to collaborating farmers.
• Promote program events, write educational materials, grant proposals, and reports.
• Promote best farming practices, food safety, sustainable agriculture, and USDA programs.
• Organize and conduct ISFOP workshops.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with small and urban farmers.
• Ability to work under adverse weather conditions.
• Ability and interest in writing grant proposals.

Education And Experience

• Three years of farming experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or other closely related field is required, Master's degree preferred.
• The ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Light sedentary office work.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
