Job Description

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is located in the heart of downtown L.A. and is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the "Trojan Family," which is comprised of the faculty, students and staff that make the university what it is.

USC's School of Cinematic Arts Office of Student Services is seeking a Curriculum Coordinator to join its team. This position will serve as a centralized support for all divisions and programs of the School of Cinematic Arts and as the primary liaison for curriculum and the schedule of classes to the USC registrar. This position coordinates our SCA Curriculum Committee and reviews, evaluates, edits, and submits for approval any changes or proposals to curriculum. They oversee coordination and publication of the SCA schedule of classes and sections of the USC catalogue.

Job Accountabilities:
  • Annual Revision of the SCA graduate-level courses and their associated lab fees.
  • Coordinates with the Office of Institutional Research on the distribution and archival of faculty evaluations.
  • Preparation, review, archiving, and submission of all School of Cinematic Arts curriculum proposals.
  • Coordination of the nominees for the SCA master’s level Annenberg Fellowships.
  • Coordinates scheduling of classes with Registration and Classroom Scheduling and the SCA department coordinators.
  • Annual revision of the School of Cinematic Arts section of the USC Catalogue and ensures all publications are correct and up to date.
  • Determines whether proposals are acceptable for review.
  • Assists faculty and staff in preparing and presenting new or modified courses and programs and requests for policy changes.
  • Centralized resource to all SCA divisions and program and advises Deans, coordinators, faculty, and Chairs on all matters of curriculum policy and procedure.
  • Scheduling and chairing of the SCA Curriculum Committee.
  • Regular reviews external facing websites to ensure accuracy and up to date reflection of curriculum.

The hourly rate range for this position is $30.32 - $34.70. Experience:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Experience:
2 Years in Higher Education Administration

Minimum Field of Expertise:
Thorough knowledge of university policies, curricula and academic structure and proven administrative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Strong written skills and experience in revision.
Previous knowledge in media arts education/administration or familiarity with media arts academia and curriculum.
