Summary of Position

The Tax Coordinator role offers exposure to fundamental accounting, legal and tax issues. The incumbent will have the opportunity to learn basic accounting and tax concepts and be trained on widely used accounting and tax software systems. In time, this person will have the opportunity to participate on higher level business issues. The Tax Department consists of professionals that emphasize teamwork and are eager to teach.

Responsibilities

• Process and track all vendor invoices (correct coding/banking information) and engagement letters
• Prepare and provide Form W-9s for Lionsgate entities
• Perform mail run post office duties, maintain mail run list, and inventory certified receipts with post office date stamps for use in substantiating mailing date
• Process department intern requests, new hire onboarding, and IT requests, as needed
• Maintain department contact list, office supply, and file storage
• Assist with corporate governance filings and POA forms
• UK Executives self-assessment tax returns and form 1116 calculations
• Manage tax return filing calendars and coordinate meetings
• Coordinate with treasury, accounting, and finance teams on vendor payments
• Prepare a limited number of expense reports
• Perform tax department budget analysis
• Take notes and arrange logistics for meetings
• Annual UK Short Term Business Traveler Reporting
• Process and distribute mail
• Manage tax software renewal and research platform administration
• Manage tax notice tracker, open, review, log, assign and distribute tax notices and documents
• Drafting response letters to the various government agencies
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Prepare indirect tax returns (e.g., sales and use, Washington B&O and Oregon CAT)
• Organize and catalog electronic and hardcopy tax files

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting and/or tax fundamentals, a plus
• Ability to work alongside both the tax and accounting staff as well as function independently of supervision
• College degree, preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organization skills
