A premium LA-based non-fiction entertainment company is looking for an all-star experienced Coordinator to report to the Head of Documentaries. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative, quick-thinking, adaptive, resourceful, highly organized and detail-oriented, has strong written and verbal skills, able to multi-task, pop culture savvy, and personable, while also sharing a passion for documentary features and limited series.
This is a demanding and fast-moving position in a highly-collaborative and culturally positive environment, with great potential for growth to become part of our production and development teams. It is a prime opportunity for the right candidate to learn and contribute to an expansive premium unscripted slate.
Applicants must be based in Los Angeles and able to work full time. Work is hybrid in-office and work-from-home.
Responsibilities include:
·Coordinate and manage the day-to-day schedule & calendar for the Documentary team including scheduling & setting up calls, zooms, and in-person meetings.
·Organize start work, deal memos, and administrative paperwork for Documentary team as relevant.
·Read, review, and provide coverage for inbound project proposals.
·Assist with awards submissions, curation of creative and operational materials.
·Tracking and management of internal grids for organization, such as pitch & development grids, Agency/network mandates, other 3rd party conferences/industry events and personnel lists/tracking (i.e. directors, producers, editors and other key staff).
·Manage the company Google Drive, Dropbox, and keep all files, folders, calendars and spreadsheets organized and up to date
·Coverage of creative submissions such as reading, evaluating, and synopsizing incoming creative materials, as well as tracking submissions for the department.
·Research new stories, IP, and projects independently and present to the team as well as assist in curating and generating creative materials.
·Other general duties such as:
oNote-taking during creative meetings.
oAssist in coordination of company gifts and events.
oOccasional runs for the Documentary team.
Qualifications:
·1-2 years experience working in non-fiction industry at a production company, agency, or studio
·Proficient in Word, Excel, Google Workspace, DropBox, Airtable, and Powerpoint / Keynote
·Strong verbal and written communication skills
·Strong research skills
·Attention to detail
·Highly organized and detail-oriented
·Ability to multitask and prioritize independently
·Working knowledge of the film and television industry
·Interest in non-fiction content and documentary filmmaking
·Bachelor's degree preferred
