Edward-Elmhurst is a 736-bed system that includes three hospitals – Edward Hospital in Naperville, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health (on the Edward campus), and an extensive ambulatory care network that provides comprehensive healthcare to residents of the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago. For the third year in a row, Edward-Elmhurst Health has been named one of the nation’s 15 Top Health Systems by Fortune/IBM Watson Health. For the second year in a row, Fortune/IBM Watson Health has named Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital among the 100 Top Hospitals in the U.S.
Elmhurst Hospital was ranked No. 1 and Edward Hospital was ranked No. 7 in the Large Community Hospitals category. Edward and Elmhurst are two of only five Illinois hospitals to make the 100 Top Hospitals list. Edward was previously recognized in 2011, 2016, 2018 and 2020. This is the second time Elmhurst Hospital has been honored (2020).
General Summary
Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates continuing education and quality improvement programs for Edward as a system resource hospital. Assures compliance for the EMS system participants with education and licensure requirements established by Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Edward Hospital EMS System EHEMSS), and Emergency Medical System (EMS) Region 8. Works collaboratively to accomplish the education and licensure requirements that meet or exceed area standards. Performs various analytical duties which involve evaluating and implementing data collection tools, methods and procedures. Analyzes data, develops reports, recommendations and presentations on quality improvement and initiatives. Serves as an ambassador to all levels of EMS participants. Serves as a role model for the mission and values of Edward Hospital and EHEMSS.
Hours: This position has flexibility to be either full time or part-time and the hours are working between 8am to 5 pm Monday through Friday
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:
• Proficient in Microsoft word, excel and database tools, with strong knowledge of computer system interfacing
• Will obtain Illinois Lead Instructor License subject to class availability within one year of hire.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse or paramedic licensure
• Expertise in developing educational programs that incorporate adult learning principles; educational objectives; relevant/accurate content; bibliography; competency assessments including proper test question development and skill assessment
• Two years of experience teaching nurses or pre-hospital providers
• Paid time off
• Requires a minimum of three years of experience in emergency, pre-hospital nursing or pre-hospital paramedic care

• Current CPR certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross
• A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off -site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
