$500.00 Bonus After 90 Working Days
General Summary Of Job Duties
The Banquet Captain will lead a team of servers, bartenders and banquet houseman during catered events. Other duties will include scheduling servers and other personnel for an event, making sure that all sanitation and safety codes are met. Assessing the overall cleanliness of a venue before an event begins and when the event concludes.
Essential Job Function And Duties
  • Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests, to perceive when the next course should begin, or when the meal is completed.
  • Maintains constant contact with the banquet chef, to ensure conclusion between food production and food service.
  • Supervises and trains staff in the set-up and breakdown of assigned banquet rooms according to contract and managers instructions.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
  • Meet and greet guests in a friendly warm manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supervises staff in the service of food and beverages according to our standards.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guest, fellow team members, and vendors.
  • Monitors banquet personnel in performance of their duties,
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting pre-meal and post-meal meetings.
  • Have complete knowledge of all food and beverages items on the event menu.
  • Checks banquet rooms, service, and kitchen functions for the banquet department.
  • Discuss last minute changes with the banquet team.
  • Performs planning and organization of functions for the banquet department.
  • Arrive on time and regular attendance to all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
  • Plan the event course and orchestrates its completion in a timely manner.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately to guests’ requests.
  • Oversees all aspects of assigned banquet function activities, ensuring that food areas are properly set-up and ready for execution at the appointed time.
  • Coordinates with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function.
  • Adheres to all banquet standards and policies and procedures.
  • Displays good customer relation skills and take initiative to greet guests.

Skills, Education And Other Requirements
  • Excellent verbal skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • The ability to successfully interact with all levels of team members and management.
  • The ability to maintain composure in a potentially stressful environment.
  • High School Diploma and/or GED preferred
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous food serving experience is a plus.
  • The ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
