Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our manufacturing company. As the Controller, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of our organization. You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information, maintaining internal controls, and implementing financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and food manufacturing industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Monitor and analyze key financial indicators, variances, and performance metrics to ensure financial health and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and implement financial models and forecasts to support budgeting and planning processes.
  1. Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required financial reports, tax filings, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during financial audits and inspections.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with financial regulations and identify areas of improvement.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets, ensure accuracy of financial records, and comply with applicable regulations.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to optimize financial resources.
  • Conduct ongoing financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and support effective resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts aligned with strategic goals.
  1. Cash Management and Treasury:
  • Manage cash flow, including monitoring working capital, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing cash utilization.
  • Oversee banking relationships, including the negotiation of credit terms and banking services.
  • Implement effective treasury management practices, including cash pooling, investment strategies, and risk mitigation.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the finance department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial goals and objectives are effectively communicated and achieved.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing operations, cost accounting, and inventory management.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Controller or similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications, ERP systems, and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
