Location: Passaic County, NJ

Salary: $135k to 150k plus bonus

Overview

Company is seeking a Controller to lead the organization's general accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting and treasury operations and to supervise four employees. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer the position has routine interaction with the executive management team and will help guide the company's strategic financial decisions and play an integral part in the growth and financial health of the business. Ideal candidate will possess 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. CPA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong inventory controls and lead monthly cycle counting efforts.
• Oversee processes around federal and state tax returns.
• Complete analysis of monthly results and provide explanations for any significant variances to forecast.
• Drive continuous improvements of financial results.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
• Participate in future enterprise resource planning upgrade / implementation initiatives.
• Take a leadership role in providing technical accounting support to the organization.
• Ensure monthly reconciliations are completed on significant accounts.
• Manage the activities for team and provide assistance, guidance, training and support as needed.
• Supervise the treasury functions.
• Maintain labor and overhead rates for the manufacturing plants to ensure accurate costing of products.
• Coordinate annual insurance renewal process as well as occasional activities involving claims or issuing insurance certificates.
• Supervise and deliver audit requests in support of the annual audit.
• Oversee the monthly close process and generate consolidated financial statements in a timely manner.
• Develop a process-driven and proactive accounting department.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures as well as controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong technical accounting background.
• Cost accounting experience desired.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• ERP systems experience preferred.
• Experience supervising others.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and present complex financial data.
• 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Multi-company financial reporting and consolidation experience.
• Strong spreadsheet and presentation software skills. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
