About Our Job:
Denver Human Services is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, experienced, and relationship-driven Continuous Improvement Supervisor to lead the Continuous Improvement team within the Performance Improvement and Accountability Division. We are looking for candidates with a proven track-record of success leading, motivating, and coaching team members to provide superior customer service and performance in process improvement and innovation.
The Continuous Improvement Supervisor:
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders within DHS
  • Provides leadership, guidance, prioritization, and support to a team of highly skilled and independent professionals
  • Strategically evolves service offerings to meet the needs of DHS in delivering excellent and effective services to clients
  • Displays a continuous improvement philosophy in all aspects of service delivery
  • Matures, develops, and guides project management activities, structure, and methodologies for Denver’s Department of Human Services
  • Leads or oversees special projects for the department to provide increased capacity and strategic expertise for executive management
  • Project Management – Manage all aspects of one or multiple projects through initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing, while complying with established control systems and rules. Monitor processes, progress, and results. Determine objectives, set priorities, delegate work, and provide others with clear direction. Work with others towards an agreement that may involve exchanging specific resources or resolving differences.
  • Serves as the leader of continuous improvement at the Department of Human Services
  • Continuously evaluates and improves curriculum and training offerings to maintain relevancy
  • Directs, trains, develops goals, plans, and evaluates the work of professional continuous improvement team members
  • Provides operational support and direction to the team to ensure a consistent and high-quality support system to DHS divisions in pursuit of agency goals
  • Plans, designs, and executes continuous improvement and performance management strategies
  • Displays continuous improvement by increasing department knowledge and abilities around process improvement and project management
  • Performs project management oversight and work by managing, coordinating, and directing projects including project initiation, development, production/execution, closing/maintenance, and project coordination with internal and external stakeholders; ensuring that projects are completed on time and with high quality
About You
Our ideal candidate will:
  • Have very proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Understand, use, and promote change management principles
  • Be skilled at facilitation and conflict management
  • Have good presentation experience
  • Provide an equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment, that engages employees and allows all staff to feel safe
  • Have good analytical skills
  • Be familiar with Lean and other improvement methodologies
  • Be receptive to and utilize feedback to improve and better serve customers
  • Have the ability to work with many different personalities to build trust with team members and all DHS divisions
  • Have Lean and/or Six Sigma, PMP certifications or equivalent
  • Have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Have strong leadership skills and proven experience with staff development and mentoring others to grow and meet their full potential
  • Have strong knowledge of methods, principles, and tools for managing projects

  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field
  • Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience planning and conducting management studies including determining study methods and procedures, analyzing data, developing recommendations and implementation strategies, and preparing reports of findings and recommendations
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of posthigh school education
