Job Description

The Director, Continuous Improvement is a key member of the Specialty Chemicals & Engineered Materials (SCEM) Global Operations Leadership Team and is a change agent responsible for the successful implementation and sustainability of Entegris’ Continuous Improvement business operation system within the division globally. This role will partner with and coach plant leadership, plant continuous improvement managers and shop floor teams to challenge the status quo and drive world class performance in quality, customer service and cost.


In this role you will:

  • Organizes PR, rewards, and recognition to drive CI culture and engagement
  • Promote CI activities, recognize and reward successes and celebrate CI accomplishments
  • Determines the global CI deployment strategy: roadmap, priorities, and success criteria
  • Develops Entegris’ CI curriculum/tools/templates
  • Develops playbooks to help plants to deploy CI successfully based on best practices
  • Develops tools and processes for implementing and sustaining continuous improvement activity at all levels of the organization
  • Drive adoption of digital equipment/process performance measurement systems such as OEE and SPC
  • Drives the continuous improvement culture ensuring engagement within all levels of the organization
  • Be an active contributing member of the Entegris Global CI Council that:
  • Lead the Divisional CI Council that consists of the Plant CI managers to drive sharing of best practices, lessons learned and to drive local level projects to successful completion
  • Ensure sustainability of past CI projects and focus on standardization and adoption of improved processes
  • Coach plant level CI teams to complete their CI projects timely & successfully
  • Develops and executes the Divisional Continuous Improvement Strategy globally
  • Governs the CI certification/qualification standards
  • Support plants with the identification and scoping of improvement opportunities/projects ensuring the delivery of strategic business objectives
  • Plan, support and conduct Kaizen Events, Lean, TPM, Process Capability (SPC, 6 Sigma) training workshops
  • Recognized expert who leads complex cross functional and divisional/regional improvement projects
  • Ensures projects are on time and on budget, manages expectations and risks


Requirements:

  • Proven change management capabilities
  • Sets an example for others following our PACE values - People and Teamwork, Accountability, Integrity, and Trust, Creativity and Innovation, and Dedication to Excellence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven knowledge of lean manufacturing/operational excellence concepts and tools such as value stream mapping, business process redesign, lean, six sigma, cycle time reduction, facility layout design, daily management, leader standard work, etc. Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Excellent communications skills. Ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to manage through influence
  • Ability to manage large, complex projects on time and on-budget
  • Minimum of 10 years of previous operational management or operational excellence experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or operations; Master’s degree preferred
