Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s North Carolina Battery Plant Manufacturing Department seeks a passionate and highly motivated Continuous Improvement Senior Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Center of Excellence Manager and maintain the standards of an organization’s talent by providing comprehensive training at the start of employment and as needed throughout the job. The Continuous Improvement Senior Analyst will also lead and manage initiatives to enhance Assembly process stability by developing projects focusing on Stable takt, line speed, and line balance changes. The Continuous Improvement Senior Analyst will also lead special projects as assigned, including facilitating workshops, managing equipment, process or structure relocations, and non-dimensional equipment modifications within the areas of responsibility to achieve efficiency and optimal flow.

Reporting to the Center of Excellence Sr. Manager, the person in this role will support the executives and department heads to determine areas for employee improvement, develop training courses for new and existing employees, and establish methods to track employee performance after the completion of training.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the implementation of Lean programs from inception to completion.
  • Lead optimization changes to the assembly process method changes.
  • Lead manufacturing investigations, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implementing process improvements, Change Controls, and Safety Improvements.
  • Provide specialized technical guidance and support to assigned areas.
  • Lead staff training and recommend opportunities to strengthen internal control structure and work processes which impact compliance, privacy, and security.
  • Lead the leadership team in setting and achieving goals utilizing Lean initiatives. This includes working with key leadership both functionally and strategically to drive overall improvements in specific areas.
  • Identify and find solutions for safety and ergonomic problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist with analysis of process or systems failures hindering production areas.
  • Manage the planning, facilitation, and completion of Lean projects to support cost reduction objectives.
  • Provide training and process improvement activities/projects for production associates utilizing responsible systems/processes.
  • Plan the relocation of process equipment that aids improvement.
  • Lead special and self-initiated projects for continuous improvement, structure planning, and other series-related projects.
  • Lead the development and process of methods and systems for measuring to ensure that project goals, objectives, and metrics are being met and maintained.

What you bring

  • Experience as Project Lead for major model changes or new model launches.
  • Ability to mentor Group Leaders and Team Members.
  • Ability to create and execute strategic direction.
  • Technical problem-solving ability.
  • BA/BS degree in an engineering/manufacturing discipline or several years of related professional experience.
  • Strong communication & visualization skills.
