Consulting Partner – Interim Chief Financial Officer

The Opportunity:

The Consulting Partner will provide interim CFO services to Z Capital Group (“ZCG”) portfolio companies as required. The hired individual may serve as a bridge to a new full-time executive, navigate financial transitions, operationally execute upon M&A strategy, lead integrations, and/or enterprise software implementations. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing financial operations, implementing financial systems and controls, and leading financial planning and analysis. The interim CFO will work closely alongside ZCG portfolio companies to ensure financial goals are met during times of transition.

Responsibilities:

· Provide interim financial leadership and operational oversight to ZCG portfolio companies during times of transition, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or management changes, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial reporting, risk, treasury, and tax

· Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP

· Maintain financial models

· Work creatively to solve potential issues or complications with liquidity and leverage by optimizing working capital and cash management

· Provide strategic guidance on the successful integration or “stand-up” of businesses.

· Partner with operational teams to provide financial guidance and implement financial software (ERP, CRM, HRIS, CPM, PEO, and/ or AP/AR, inventory management systems) to help drive profitability and growth

· Perform assessment of portfolio company talent, processes, and technology, and provide recommendations for improvement

· Identify and realize synergies across financial functions, as well as identify inter-dependencies

· Manage and take ownership of the planning and execution of all integration timelines and budgets in M&A situations

· Lead preparation of pro-forma financial statements

· Identify and implement cost savings opportunities

· Improve reporting processes across portfolio companies

· Conduct financial due diligence and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standard

· Build and maintain strong relationships with private equity clients and stakeholders

Requirements for consideration:

· Minimum undergraduate degree in relevant program of study; MBA or CPA required

· Minimum 15+ years of experience working for private equity-backed businesses as Chief Financial Officer or for consulting firms specializing in interim leadership with middle-market PE portfolio companies

· Strong knowledge of financial systems, processes, and controls

· Track record of success in working across different industries, including cross-functionally and across cultures

· Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment

· Creative problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail

· Entrepreneurial, self-starting attitude with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (50%-75%)

Expected Annual Base Compensation: $225k-$325k (Subject to the candidate's qualifications and experience).

The position will be based in our New York City office and requires extensive global travel to portfolio companies as necessary.
