About the Role:

X Games, the pinnacle of adrenaline-pumping action, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join our growing and dynamic team. The CFO will act as a key member of the X Games executive leadership team and will partner with internal and external stakeholders to meet and exceed X Games financial and strategic objectives. The ideal CFO candidate will step into this role as the financial visionary that drives the company towards long-term profitable growth, but most importantly understands and embodies the X Games culture. With the recent carve-out from Disney/ESPN, this is an opportunity of a life-time to play a pivotal role in re-establishing this widely recognized and beloved brand's presence worldwide and lead the X Games team to new heights.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, standards, and procedures related to finance and ensure their implementation
• Participate in company strategic planning activities including designing and managing event and company budgets
• Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Reporting to the Board and X Games stakeholders
• Manage, mentor, train, and evaluate the accounting/finance team
• Manage X Games' financial resources to maximize value and enhance cash flow while ensuring the financial integrity of the company
• Develop and track financial KPIs to evaluate the success of X Games
• Lead efforts to manage segment and overall company profitability through cross-department collaboration, FP&A, and strategic financial vision setting
• Develop streamlined business processes; identify and develop courses of action to respond to a wide variety of department and organizational needs
• Oversee all financial, accounting, tax, audit, risk management, budgeting, credit, treasury, internal controls, HR/Payroll/Benefits, and FP&A functions for X Games
• Perform monthly financial modeling analyses and provide strategic insights and recommendations to the leadership team
• Focus company objectives towards building a solid operational foundation on which the company can grow and scale over time

Qualifications:

• Proven history of creating and driving a culture of financial integrity, transparency, and collaboration
• Consent to a mandatory background and credit check
• Ambitious and passionate leader who has a high level of emotional intelligence and has the ability to work effectively with a remote team and cross-functional departments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and anticipate potential obstacles
• Extensive experience in financial management, ideally in an operationally heavy and/or sports or entertainment industry
• A seasoned leader with 5+ years of executive level leadership experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting
• Ability to remain nimble as the X Games' team navigates working in a startup environment with many competing priorities
• Passion for sports and a deep understanding of the X Games culture
• A financial visionary who is always seeking innovative ways to drive financial growth and elevate the X Games brand to new heights
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with leaders of different departments and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or
• Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
