Construction Superintendent - Self Perform - Infrastructure Programs

What to Expect Tesla is looking for a Construction Superintendent - Self Perform to work on large scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction project that requires exceptional talent. The product portfolio is expanding with never-built-before production lines, and requirements demand cell production volume at a scale which was once thought to be impossible to reach. Our environment is fast-paced and incredibly exciting.
The position is located in Sparks, NV.

What You’ll Do

• Direct work in field
• Interact with third party inspection personnel and City / State / County inspectors
• Coordinate installation and start-up with equipment vendors and facilities teams
• Provide oversight of material deliveries and resolve delivery discrepancies
• Perform daily and weekly site progress reports
• Develop execution plans including detailed schedules
• Continual Process Improvement evaluation of field work to continue to increase efficiencies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing the applicable state and OSHA regulations
• Ensure frequent communication with key project individuals, job site personnel and Project Manager
• Coordinate quality control inspections
• Coordinate and supervise on-site construction activities, including direct hire and subcontractors
• Identify Change Orders and coordinate with Construction Manager to obtain approval prior to start of work
• Drive the project schedule and elevate construction issues to management
• Develop and communicate logistics and other operational plans, as necessary

What You’ll Bring

• Knowledge of ASTM and ACI Standards
• Experience with design-build projects Working knowledge of building codes, standards and environmental regulations
• Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite products, Bluebeam and PlanGrid
• Previous experience as a Superintendent on $100M+ industrial or commercial facility construction
• Experience supervising heavy civil or mechanical or electrical projects
• Ability to develop a cost loaded schedule and track performance
• Bachelor's Degree (MS preferred) or related 10+ years field experience
• Understanding of construction design documents and ability to provide constructability feedback prior to and during construction
