Construction Junior Cost Estimator

DACK Consulting, a reputable and growing Westchester based construction consulting firm is seeking a Senior Estimator capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Conduct construction estimating, budgeting and bidding for assigned projects. Interact with the architects, clients, business development and operations staff to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives, schedules and other information. Develop hard bids or negotiated work pricing proposals in response to specific proposal requests. Obtain all needed cost information from reliable subcontractors and material suppliers to meet project requirements.

JUNIOR ESTIMATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Review construction plans and perform quantity

takeoffs.

· Help develop strategies to meet project goals, like

setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining quotes, etc.

· Understand construction means and methods and how

they affect schedule and productivity.

· Organize and analyze subcontractor bids received.

JUNIOR ESTIMATOR REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management,

Engineering or Architecture.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in

all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

· Strong math and organizational skills. Detail

oriented.

· Must be able to read plans and perform and review

detailed takeoffs.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize.

· Strong knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software

and Adobe Acrobat.

· Excellent and professional oral and written

communication skills.

· Junior Level: at least 1-3 years of experience in

estimating in a professional construction firm
