Construction Assistant Project Manager

Position Overview:

The Assistant Project Manager will participate in the planning, directing, or coordinating of high-voltage construction and maintenance projects throughout the country. You will participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractors, safety, quality, and implementation.

Tasks:

• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, subcontractors, or engineers to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
• Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
• Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with constructing or maintaining structures, facilities, or systems.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
• Execute corrective actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies.
• Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
• Assist with managing project costs to stay within the forecasted budget range.

Qualifications:

• Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s)
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Must be okay with occasional short-term travel to other office locations and job sites
• Bachelor’s Degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other relatable field is strongly preferred; relevant work experience is a suitable substitute.

Compensation:

• $33.00- $50.00/hour
• Eligible for over time

Travel:

• Employee will be required to spend 30% of their time traveling
