**THIS IS A FULLY REMOTE POSITION**

This position will be responsible for researching state rules and drafting insurance policy language as directed by state rules and regulations, submit filings as required in relevant state systems, organize documents and information through use of proper electronic tools. Policies to be drafted include voluntary and group STD, LTD, Life, Stop Loss, Dental, Vision and Supplemental Health (i.e., Critical Illness, Accident, Cancer, Hospital Indemnity coverages) products.
Preferred skills:
• Research and analyze state laws, regulations and insurance department guidelines and provide compliance expertise so as to apply to policy text and company practices.
• Draft contract language that is clear, concise and which complies with state and federal laws as well as achieving company desired results. Submit all required product filings and regulatory reports to Insurance Departments. This function requires the analyst to:
(1) prepare checklists, certifications, transmittals, and submission letters;
(2) determine information to be filed for regulatory reports and synthesize the information into the reports;
• Prepare response to objections from Insurance Departments regarding product filings and regulatory reports.
• This function requires the analyst to:
(1) review DOI objections, analyze cited statutory reference and revise forms and reports accordingly;
(2) coordinate with other internal areas, if required, to respond to departments questions;
(3) in certain cases, and under the supervision of the Director, argue company’s position regarding some aspect of the policy structure or language or company procedures and negotiate with the insurance examiner to arrive at the desired result.
• Compose internal documents such as issue instructions and other internal explanatory documents.
• Update departmental systems/databases.
• Assist in-house attorneys with legal research and work on special projects as assigned by management.
