Position Title: IT Portfolio Analyst



  • Regularly communicates and collaborates with Project, Program and IT leadership to share reports, dashboards and data trends
  • Works with PPM and other software vendors to optimize PPM tools and functionality
  • Facilitates formal project intake processes and meetings
  • Supports Program Managers on cross-program resource forecasting and dependencies
  • Gathers process improvement ideas by meeting regularly with PPMO stakeholders
  • Assists and supports Project Leaders and Project Managers on the development and publishing of project reports and dashboards including health, budget, and schedule
  • Works with PMO Leaders, Program Managers, Project Managers and IT Leadership on team capacity planning, forecasting and accurate effort reporting.
  • Supports Program and Portfolio Leadership on the development and publishing of program and portfolio level reports and dashboards including, but not limited to, portfolio mix, effort mix and budget mix; analyzes moderately complex portfolio data to determine portfolio trends to support decision making
  • Participates in the design and ongoing optimization of PPM tools and functionality for moderately complex projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Conducts analyses of moderately complex portfolio data sets related to program/portfolio management and resource allocation
  • Performs periodic audits on effective utilization of PPM
  • Works with Project and Program leadership to ensure project and program budgets are managed in Planview PPM and assists in the development and publishing of project and program budget reports
  • Assists and supports Project and Program leaders in achieving PPM data accuracy
  • Supports IT leadership in the development of fiscal year resource and budget forecasts based on Planview Roadmap data
  • Assist in the support of IT leadership to submit IT roadmap projects into Planview
Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must be able to quickly defuse stressful or anxious situations.

  • Collaborates with other teammates to provide assistance, and expertise, as well as to receive expert input and assistance from others delivering the best solution and experience for the customer.
  • Proven ability to creatively solve problems and to influence outcomes through persuasion, effective communications and relationship building.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Communicates effectively and frequently both verbally and in writing with other members of the team.
  • Ability to organize and work effectively in a matrix organization with cross-functional project teams from various departments and locations
  • Must be enthusiastic and committed to helping others and exhibit the ability to quickly assess the specific needs of the customer to determine an appropriate course of action.
  • Ingenuity and flexibility is expected
  • Demonstrated skills in analysis of project, program and portfolio data and reporting
  • Ability to work extra hours and adjust schedule and recognize the need to do so
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess an aptitude for patience, professionalism, tactfulness and empathy.
  • Ability to adjust to changes in priorities and demands on time
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new circumstances
