About Music Access Miami:

Music Access Miami is a collaborative project bringing together multiple non-profits in music and arts in Miami and is overseen by Young Musicians Unite and The Miami Foundation. The goal of the project is to identify and unite all non-profit arts education in Miami-Dade, scale music programming across all of Miami-Dade, and eventually launch legislation to guarantee arts access to every child in Miami-Dade.

Position Overview

The Community Impact Coordinator for Music Access Miami will act as the main point of contact between partner organizations, school leaders, policymakers, and the community for the South Dade area. They are responsible for working with the Manager to implement and oversee all activities that enhance the presence and impact of the Music Access project.


The Community Impact Coordinator will partner with the Music Access Miami Manager to focus on building and completing a strategy to engage with nonprofit organizations, foundations, and partners in the South Dade Region modeling the Miami Gardens Music Alliance. The South Dade Music Alliance is scheduled to launch in the Fall of 2024.


Position Overview:


  • Obtain a working knowledge of their programs, offering consultative and resource support as appropriate and needed.
  • Provide consistent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Develop strong working relationships and communication with Principals, Schools, and community-based organizations
  • Seek out and respond to strategic opportunities that leverage Music Access's presence in and impact on the Music Access community.
  • Map the cultural and music initiatives in the community and establish the way they collaborate or are integrated into the community.
  • Represent Music Access Miami in community meetings and collaborations relating to Community Impact projects and initiatives.
  • Manage a master schedule calendar with all the possible collaborations and interactions from initiatives, organizations, and programs.
  • Research, access the needs of, and manage community impact projects for “The South Music Music Alliance” under the Music Access Miami umbrella (School Districts 7 and 9).


Responsibilities

South Dade Music Alliance Oversight

  • Research:
  • Network: How much schools and organizations collaborate with each other.
  • Transportation: Bus fleet, routes, existing connections.
  • Mapping of South Dade Region
  • Establish needs, components, students, and population data
  • Infrastructure, Performing spaces, public parks, capacity.
  • Schools, Principals, Music and Arts Organizations, Cultural initiatives,
  • Identify opportunities to expand South Dade Music Alliance Initiatives.
  • Government: Community, Cultural Affairs Department, MDCPS future plans.
  • Existing programs: Consolidate in a report/map all the afterschool activities and programs that take place in the South Dade region.



  • Evaluate the different aspects to consider for the implementation of each program in new locations.
  • Meetings: Timelines, Management, Scheduling, Agenda, and Presentations
  • Principals and Music and Arts Organizations
  • Music Access Miami (Establish connections with existing organizations)


  • Reports:
  • Ensure all organizations submit projection reports for the region
  • Update presentations for different stakeholders on the future impact of the South Dade Music Alliance
  • Reporting for related funding sources (Monthly)


  • Project Implementation:
  • Support the launch of the South Dade Music Alliance RFP


Job Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree


TECH SKILLS )PREFERRED)

  • Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Google Calendar management for large events
  • Basecamp (YMU uses this as a project management platform)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Google Suite (proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Drive).
  • Canva


QUALITIES

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Passionate about music education
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with members of the team
  • Candidates will be expected to travel from the office in Allapattah to Miami Gardens on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to connect and engage individuals from all backgrounds and levels.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community In-person job
  • Ability to work under direct supervision and independently
  • Ability to think outside the box and resolve problems creatively
  • Must have a Valid driver's license
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills, meet time-sensitive deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong public speaking and presentation abilities


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Salary: $48,000 - 52,000
  • 10 Days paid vacation (increases over the years)

  • $150 Health Care Stipend per month
