Expected Starting Salary Range: 37.18 - 47.10
The Michael Fisher Child Health Equity Center is focused on achieving equitable outcomes for all children. A significant component of that work is strong community engagement and partnership - with families, community members, organizations, and neighborhoods.
This position provides leadership and work direction to staff in the completion of multiple, complex projects with a variety of stakeholders and far reaching impact. Consults with leader for guidance.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Community Partnerships and Organizing
Knowledge of community engagement and community organizing strategies and practices. Capable of relating to diverse age and demographic backgrounds. Able to facilitate and support community participation in CCHMC projects.
  • Community Engagement
Knowledge of Cincinnati communities, including those served by Cincinnati Childrens neighborhood locations. Serve as a point of contact for community engagement for Community Health project leaders. Be aware of projects at CCHMC related to Community Health work. Work with Community Health project leaders to develop multi-year operations plans. Manage relationships with Community Health project teams. Serve as a liaison between Community Health project teams and external community leaders. Facilitate structures/mechanisms for effective prioritization and communication among teams and community leadership. Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and providing input to department discussions.
  • Research
Engage in independent research focused on issues directly relevant to respecting the rights and welfare of individuals that participate in research. Provide formal and informal consultation and guidance to those who design, develop and implement research participant educational and support programs. Improve the institutional relationship with research participants. Identify community barriers to participation in research through direct community interaction and develop programs and interventions to address these barriers.
  • Training & communication
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills w/ an ability to develop materials for presentations to a variety of audiences both internal and external. Computer literate and working knowledge of software word process, spreadsheet and desktop publishing applications.
  • Program
Program & project management, implementation & execution. Demonstrated ability to implement projects successfully. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work both independently and in a team environment, and work efficiently and creatively to meet deadlines. Data & analytics - Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment. Budget-May, in collaboration with leadership, develop, implement and evaluate the department's budget to achieve the organizational and departmental objectives. Recommend support budgets to meet departmental needs. Recommend solutions to leadership for compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5 - 7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
